Printable cheat sheet

  1. Mission: write a synthèse for your manager 15 min

Turning three documents into one neutral page a decision-maker can use. Say what the documents say, and how sure each source is.

  2. Mission: write an op-ed for the local paper 14 min

Writing a 300-word op-ed that asks a real question, weighs both sides and shows how sure it is. Argue like a writer, not a list-maker.

  3. Mission: give a talk to a committee and answer its questions 14 min

Presenting a position to a committee, then answering its hardest questions. Hear what the question is really about, then hold a position without holding a grudge.

  4. Mission: brief your team on an article and an interview 13 min

Reading a dense article and an evasive interview well enough to brief your director. The capstone of the district: what is said, what is only implied, and how sure you are of each.
