Être and avoir. The two verbs behind most first sentences: to be and to have.
- Mission: describe your family and your town 5 min
Articles and gender. Every French noun is masculine or feminine; the little word in front tells you which.
- Mission: tell a new colleague where you live and work 5 min
Present tense of -er verbs. One pattern for most French verbs: parler, habiter, aimer, travailler.
- Mission: say no politely to a street survey 5 min
Negation. Wrap the verb in ne … pas, and change un, une, des to de after a negative.
- Mission: show a colleague photos of your family 6 min
Family words, mon / ma / mes, and adjectives that agree. Talk about your family and describe people.
